I've just been "Outfoxed."

In a recent Pew research study, all three of the major US “News” networks were found to provide a high percentage of commentary/opinion in their daily coverage. Factual news reporting has diminished over the years. I can appreciate the documentary, Outfoxed, views on FOX News, but where was their “fair and balanced” stance on this issue? In the Pew study, MSNBC provided 85% commentary/opinion coverage. I feel the media, as a whole, is out of control.

Ideally, I would love to have a news media outlet that was unbiased and did not “spin” the arguments. But, who would provide such a channel? Americans continue to watch these types of for profit news programs, therefore perpetuating the problem.

Alternatively, leaving the government to regulate the media (which they cannot due to 1st Amendment’s Freedom of Press) would defiantly not be any better. The government is not allowed to “prior restraint” the press under the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Near V. Minnesota.

We are left to either watch or not watch.  Complain or take action.
